Caring Hearts of Chesapeake Harbor was born out of a simple yet powerful idea: to cultivate community and connection while supporting those in need. Founder and president Jean Goldstein had always wanted to do a game night both as a fun evening for her neighborhood but also to be able to fund some of the numerous outreach projects she had previously taken on herself (like putting together birthday boxes for struggling families or buying turkeys for the food pantry for the holidays.) She floated the idea many times but was always met with the same response: great idea but no time to help. Finally, after talking it up yet again she got a phone call from a new acquaintance who said they were onboard. She found a group of women whom she had not previously known well nor worked with before but they all shared a few things in common: a willingness, an eagerness to help and a caring heart. They put together their first event, a game night, just like she had envisioned, in October 2024. And with that successful undertaking Caring Hearts of Chesapeake Harbor came to fruition.
